The Camargo Foundation offers a 10-week, research-based residency fellowship in Cassis, France for scholars, thinkers, and artists. It provides time, space, and freedom to think, create, and connect within a contemplative environment, fostering exchange and collective spirit through mandatory Resident sessions. Seven artists and seven scholars/thinkers will be selected.
What selected participants may receive
EUR 350 per week stipend (EUR 3,500 total)
Basic coach class travel to/from Cassis
Furnished apartment with kitchen
Access to reference library, music/conference room, open-air theater, artist's studio (darkroom), composer's studio (piano)
Eligibility
Scholars: PhD/post-doctoral record or final-stage PhD candidate; focus on French/Francophone cultures or Mediterranean cross-cultural studies.
Artists: Primary creators; professional practice for at least 5 years; Visual Artists, Choreographers, Theater Directors, Performance Artists, Writers, Film/Video/Digital Artists, Composers, Sound Artists, Multidisciplinary Artists.
Collaborative Teams: Up to three individuals.
Language: Able to communicate well in English.
Mandatory Presence: Physical residence throughout entire 10-week residency.
