The Artist Basic grant supports visual artists in creating new work and developing their professional practice. It stimulates the expansion of an artist's oeuvre, visibility enhancement, experimentation, and research, aiming to contribute to contemporary visual art in the Netherlands and/or the Caribbean part of the Kingdom.
What selected participants may receive
50,000 funding paid over 2-4 years for creating work, research, experimentation, materials/equipment purchase, exhibition/event participation, or commission execution.
Eligibility
Professional visual artists with 4+ years of practice
Embedded in professional visual arts practice in the Netherlands and/or Caribbean Kingdom territories
Total taxable income ≤ €55,000/year (previous 2 years)
Not enrolled in full-time academic programs (exceptions for <20 hours/week)
No prior Artist Basic grant in last 4 years
No recent rejection based on "quality and development of oeuvre" criterion within 12 months
