Eligibility

  • Open internationally to all designers, typographers, agencies, studios, creative professionals, and students
  • Entries may originate from any country
  • Projects must be first published or produced between September 2025 and September 2026
  • Student category entries must be created specifically for school assignments
  • AI‑generated text‑to‑image submissions are not accepted
  • English translations are required for all non‑English entries
  • Multiple entries and multi‑category submissions are permitted (except student work, which cannot be entered in other categories)

Fees

  • Application fee: Single image entries start at $40 USD; motion categories start at $90 USD; student entries start at $20 USD; series submissions range from $80–$180 USD depending on format
  • Other costs: Late submissions add $10 USD per entry; wire transfer payments add a $25 USD processing fee

Application materials

  • Digital files: JPG/JPEG images (max 2MB each), MOV/MP4/MPG/MPEG video files (max 500MB each), PDF files (max 50MB)
  • For typeface designs: complete character set and sample setting; type families must show each variant on a single image or PDF page
  • English translations for any non‑English submissions
  • Student entries must demonstrate original authorship and assignment‑based creation

Additional notes

  • Judged by a professional jury of leading design experts; a majority vote is required for final selection
  • Winning projects retain creator copyright; Communication Arts reserves the right to reproduce winning works for promotional and publication purposes
  • Printed submissions are no longer accepted; all entries must be digital
  • Series submissions are evaluated collectively based on overall conceptual and visual coherence
  • Website entries for typography must be submitted as a series of screenshots in the Digital Media category
  • No cash prize is offered; only selected entrants are notified, within two months after the final deadline
