The Meridian Scholar Program 2027 is a 10-day artist residency hosted by the Art + Design Department at the University of Tampa. Focused on the theme “Worldbuilding,” the program invites a U.S.-based creative practitioner to produce new editions in printmaking, sculptural casting, or digital fabrication. The resident will work on campus, engage with students through lectures, workshops, and critiques, and present the resulting works in a public exhibition.
What selected participants may receive
2,000 honorarium
Additional funding for domestic travel to and from Tampa
Full access to departmental facilities, including the Fab Lab, woodshop, printmaking, sculpture, painting, and photography studios
A semi-private working space in the advanced student studios
A public exhibition of the residency work at the Student Project Gallery, Ferman Center for the Arts
Opportunity to include students in production and post-production processes
Eligibility
Open to all practicing artists in the United States
This cycle exclusively solicits creators who will print, cast, or digitally fabricate multiple editions of work during the residency
